When to use this tool

Use the eraser to remove distractions, clutter or local elements. It generates replacement background rather than making the selected area transparent. Use background removal for a transparent subject.

Prepare and locate the action

Select the source image on your project canvas and find Erase. If it is not visible, check More Tools and whether the asset type supports it. Keep the original and make sure you have permission to edit and use the source.

Step-by-step workflow

Paint over the unwanted object, including enough of its boundary without covering the subject you want to keep. Review the selection and cost, then submit. Compare the completed image with the original, paying attention to textures and shadows.

Example workflow

When removing an item from a table, include the object and its obvious shadow while preserving surrounding texture as context. Large objects against complex backgrounds may require more careful masking.

Settings and costs

Use the options and estimated cost shown in the current tool interface. Check the result and actual records after processing. Source dimensions, model and output can affect cost; this guide does not promise a fixed price.

Troubleshooting and quality checks

Remaining shadows or repeated textures call for a closer look at the mask. When an object covers much of the subject, the model cannot know what was really behind it. Treat reconstructed areas as generated content.

Public demonstration

These assets are from the public YourArt website demonstration. They illustrate the workflow; results depend on your input.
