When to use this tool
Use it for grid collages, storyboards or product contact sheets. Splitting cuts regions from the source; it does not separate foreground objects or reconstruct occluded content. Use layer separation for that task.
Prepare and locate the action
Select the source image on your project canvas and find Split. If it is not visible, check More Tools and whether the asset type supports it. Keep the original and make sure you have permission to edit and use the source.
Step-by-step workflow
Choose equal splitting and adjust rows and columns, checking the preview lines. For irregular layouts, choose custom splitting and adjust the regions. Select at least two regions, then check that cuts do not cross important text or subjects.
Example workflow
A storyboard with two rows and three columns can become six separate frames. If it has uneven borders, adjust the regions so each output contains the intended frame.
Settings and costs
Use the options and estimated cost shown in the current tool interface. Check the result and actual records after processing. Source dimensions, model and output can affect cost; this guide does not promise a fixed price.
Troubleshooting and quality checks
If individual pieces look blurry, the source may contain too few pixels per cell. Splitting does not increase resolution; upscale selected pieces if needed.
